6 Events That Led To Boys Tree House
- Boys are hard to shop for (BEFORE Boys Tree House :) )
As many of you know, I have a little boy. The day my husband and I found out we were having a little boy we walked into a department store to buy his first outfit. EVERYTHING was PINK! There were maybe 2 small racks of clothes for boys in a sea of pink. The older he got, the harder it got to find cute clothes that I really liked.
- Daydreaming
- Daydream became a constant thought
After that day, I kept thinking about that dream, and it became something I couldn’t ignore anymore. I mentioned it to my husband one day, thinking he would brush it off, but to my surprise he thought it was a great idea. A little later, I ran the idea by my mom, and other close family members. They all thought it was a great idea.
- Asking God
I am a chrisitan, and I try to always ask God what His plan is before making any decision. I can’t say I’m perfect at this, but if it is a life altering decision, then He is THE one I want to hear from. I sat down with my Bible sometime in January 2016 and asked Him to tell me what to do. I “randomly” opened to James chapter 1 and began reading. These verses were “jumping off the page”.
- Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. James 1:22
- In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. James 2:17
- You see that his faith and his actions were working together and his faith was made complete by what he did. James 2:22
- Research, Planning, & Action
I had my confirmation! My husband and I began researching how to open and run a business. And, oh by the way, I’m a military spouse, and we FREQUENTLY move which made it all the more challenging to figure out how to open a business and make it portable. It took months of research, calls to various agencies, filing paperwork, moving again, and FINALLY we were almost ready to open Boys Tree House, but not before going to Market.
6. AmericasMart Atlanta
My mom and cousin (more like my sister) graciously met me in Atlanta to SHOP! This was the most fun and exhausting weekend!! AmericasMart is huge and there was a lot to figure out on our first visit. Needless to say, we bought the cutest boy clothes we could find, and I think you will agree!
